Like always, this dress is 99% done, but doesn't it look like 100%? I've got a ton of weddings this summer, so I'm going to wear this to one (maybe two if I'm feelin' saucy). I was going to add a big bow or flowery-looking embellishments on the shoulder, but my friend Maria suggested some turquoise stones - and I loved the idea! I just gotta get me to the store for those and this girl is ready for the ball.
This was also one of those projects that I nearly finished, tore apart, and re-did. I had done it without the waistband, and had done the skirt with all these pick-ups and twists and random pleats...it looked GREAT on the form, then I put it on my 5'2" frame and looked like a cupcake. I had to leave it alone for a day. Then I cut Chris off mid-sentence in the grocery store to announce I was doing the whole thing over. I think he's used to that sort of thing. He's the cat's meow.
Have a great Wednesday!
