I tend to be pretty muted when it comes to what I wear, so I always like to jazz things up with jewelry.  I also love how different metals look all mixed together.   Give it a try!  Go ahead - break those rules...

Pinteresting Saturday: Winter Whites

When I woke up this morning I couldn't wait to see what Snowstorm Nemo had in store - it's a winter wonderland! But not too much, which is perfect.  I need to go to the grocery store later.  But for now I will hunker down with a cup of coffee and get to sewing.  I've got some more pouches to do today, and I'm also finishing the striped gown for Jenna.  And I want to flip some vintage.  And I want to organize the studio.

I love snow days.

So, appropriately enough, this week's Pinteresting Saturday post is all about winter whites.  I've never taken the plunge into wearing all white (except for the wedding day, and even that was a more vintage-y white), but sometimes all you need is a sharp white bag or coat to really dive into this trend.  Labor-day rules need not apply here.

Pinteresting Saturday: Cozy Knits

Well, I seem to have jinxed myself.   I was just marveling how I've managed to get this far through the season without getting sick, and guess who woke up with a sore throat yesterday? Oh, it was me.  But I'm perfectly content to lay about with some tea and some Downton Abbey in a big sweater.  There's something about a chunky knit that warms the heart, am I right?  

And speaking of warming the heart, Lady must sense that I'm not feeling too hot.  She usually is a crazy monster when I want to fall asleep, but last night she curled up right next to my head and stood guard - and right now she's calmly sitting on my lap instead of trying to eat my fingers while I type, gently placing her paw on my arm every few minutes as if to say, "Cat, that's enough blogging now, time to rest."  She's so smart.

I was commissioned by my dear friend Jenna to make her a gown for a wedding she has coming up.  She sent me this inspiration image and I didn't even read her email. I just said, "yes! anything you want inspired by this!"  I just got the fabric for it,  so today's Pinterest post is inspired by my...inspiration?  Yes.

Pinteresting Monday: Pastels

Well, well, well... Miss Got-Dressed, where have you been?

Well it just so happens I had six of the most wonderful girls in the world over (and their men) for a little college reminiscing, a little food, and a whole lot of wine.  Which meant I was pretty much out of commission for the weekend.  I've been enjoying a lovely day off today, and while the hubs is upstairs reading, I've doing a little pinning and Real Housewives of Atlanta-ing.  I'm over this weather - bring on the Spring and bring on the pastels!

Pinteresting Saturday: Emerald

Maybe it comes from my unhealthy obsession with The Wizard of Oz, but Emerald Green is one of my favorite colors.  Apparently, it is also one of the hottest colors right now.  From gems to shoes, coats to purses, this color is a bold addition to any drab winter day.

Pinteresting Saturday

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend so far.  Today, for the first Saturday in a while, we have...nothing!  Well actually, Chris's uncle is installing our dishwasher right now so that is actually pretty exciting.  I am using today to sew, obviously, but also to get some post-work together for the week.  I got some awesome feedback from my pal Deege after my resolution post, so I've got some good things in the hopper for next week.

Tomorrow I'll be wearing the flipped beaded dress for a wedding so I should have some lovely images (that I will demand Chris to take) for you on Monday.
