It's all fun and games till someone throws a sewing machine out the window.

Today we're going to do something a little different.

If you're friends with me on Facebook (which I'm sure you are, I don't think my fame is that far-reaching...yet), you'll know I had a particularly difficult evening last night in the workroom.

Usually I'm pretty good with troubleshooting the machines that have been with me over the past couple of years.  I was changing the blades on my serger, and usually that's a 1-2-3 and we're back in business.  Well, something went awry, they wouldn't line up, I couldn't figure it out, and I had a whole evening of sewing time ahead of me (a rare thing).  I didn't start this blog to talk about my daily feelings, but I couldn't ignore the white-hot rage racing through my veins.  Nothing would have brought me more joy that to see this machine in pieces, two floors down in the alley below my window.

That being said, today we're going behind the scenes!  I started draping a dress for my baby sis Bitsy, so here goes...

Draped pattern armhole (I'm doing a one-shoulder number for her).

I'd be lying if I said this doesn't usually look like this.  It is better, however, than keeping it all in bins and boxes - If I can't see it, I don't know its there.

The bane of my very existence on this planet.  Note the various tools that didn't help.

MacGyver sewing.

Cutting out the pattern is one of my favorite parts of the process.  Hey! Who put that wine there?

Be back tomorrow fresh as a daisy, I swear.
