Bunheads

Have you seen that show?  Its like Gilmore Girls II.  I was a big fan of Gilmore Girls with its over-the-top small-town setting and fast quirky exchanges with oddball characters such as Babette (played by THE Sally Struthers) and her cat Apricot (pronounced 'ape-ricot'). Bunheads is pretty much the same thing only with a ballet theme.

So speaking of bunheads, this post is non-dress related. Its hair-related.  The top-knot is one of my go-to hair-dos, mainly for its convenience and the way it lends itself to unwashed hair (there, I said it).  I have given them my own names as well.

Schoolgirl bun:  This is how me and all my friends wore our hair every day for four years in high school.  Sometimes we added a ribbon for some pizazz.  Still just as messy.

Fancy Pants bun:  This is a bi-weekly bun for me, since I can make my very thin hair look monstrous.  You just do a pony, and roll the hair up like a ribbon on a spool on top and bottom, then pin around in a circle.  This can also be done sock-bun style.

Socialite bun: Insert fabulous hair accessory into swept up high volume bun.

The I-Don't-Care-But-I-Really-Do bun:  This is sometimes harder to pull off than a Fancy Pants bun.  You have to create the mess just-so, in order to look like you just threw it together.  But you really didn't, you little fibber, I know your game...

The I-Don't-Care-But-I-Really-Do bun, Part Duex: This is my #1 favorite because it involves some messy teasing at the crown, and just collecting the straggling ends into a mess at the base of the neck.  So chic. Didn't even try...
