Memory Blanket!

So I am KICKING myself for not keeping all of my college T-shirts. Every year I think I throw another one out just because I never wear them and our space is getting smaller and smaller.  But if you haven't parted with yours as easily as I did (that's a lie, I probably gave myself a stress headache with every toss), here is a great idea of what to do with them! (and yours truly can help...)

So I have met Ali once, maybe twice - she is a friend of my cousin's.  Now, after making these two blankets for her, I feel like I know her!  The first was one from her days as a camp counselor - this girl had the best summers, hands-down.  I used some smaller logos as appliques for the front, and used the signature t-shirts for the back - also using some extra signature pieces for edging. Reading all of the signatures and well-wishes were really kind of moving, I gotta tell ya...

This second one was for her days in college, which got me all sentimental and nostalgic.  I used the backs of the t-shirts to make the back of the blanket.  I used some more smaller pieces for appliques here as well.   Both blankets are made with soft cotton batting so they are super snuggly in addition to being super awesome.

  2. Its more of just sewing squares together, I'm not much of a quilter :) But I'd love to do it for ya if you'd rather that!
