So I am KICKING myself for not keeping all of my college T-shirts. Every year I think I throw another one out just because I never wear them and our space is getting smaller and smaller. But if you haven't parted with yours as easily as I did (that's a lie, I probably gave myself a stress headache with every toss), here is a great idea of what to do with them! (and yours truly can help...)
So I have met Ali once, maybe twice - she is a friend of my cousin's. Now, after making these two blankets for her, I feel like I know her! The first was one from her days as a camp counselor - this girl had the best summers, hands-down. I used some smaller logos as appliques for the front, and used the signature t-shirts for the back - also using some extra signature pieces for edging. Reading all of the signatures and well-wishes were really kind of moving, I gotta tell ya...
I have a box of college tees at the top if my closet just waiting for this exact project...now if only I knew how to quilt!
ReplyDeleteIts more of just sewing squares together, I'm not much of a quilter :) But I'd love to do it for ya if you'd rather that!
